Safeguard
Safeguard is a fully integrated Risk Management
System providing Organisational, Departmental and Ward based statistics across
all areas, plus detailed analysis and tracking of patient and staff involvement
in events. All reports can be sent via email.
Web Reporting:
Data can be entered using the Organisations
intranet through simple-to-use web forms. Records are submitted to a holding
file before being merged into the live System.
Action Planning:
The Action Planning Module enables organisations
to organise individual Actions more effectively, with dependencies and links
being identified. The Actions within the Action Plan relate to different parts
of the organisation/issues and are carried out by different members of staff.
Statutory Reporting:
All Statutory reporting requirements are
met including NPSA, HSE, MHRA, Korner, NHSLA, CNST & HCSU.
Systems Integration:
Integration with other systems is provided by means of either Batch (Data is
imported into the system using a standard format file) or Real Time Interface
(utilises an ODBC connection). Links include ESR & PAS.
Safeguard Risk:
The Safeguard Risk Management software combines the different strands of Corporate
Governance into one System. Safeguard helps Trusts demonstrate their compliance
to all Government led standards and incorporates them into the Trust's Assurance
Framework where appropriate.
Safeguard Incident:
Within one database, Safeguard Incident collects and reports trends on all types
of Incidents including the following: Clinical and Non-Clinical Incidents; Adverse
Outcomes; Accidents; Near Misses; Violence and Aggression; and all Health, Safety
and Security Incidents involving Patients, Staff and the General Public.
Safeguard Complaints:
The Safeguard Complaints Management System leads the user through the complaints
process from receipt to resolution. It tracks all events and communications
between the patient and the Organisation.
Safeguard Litigation:
Manages the administration for all types of cases including CNST, ELS, Employer's
Liability and Occupier's Liability. The system holds the CNST and ELS codes
and produces the CNST, LTPS and ELS Claim Report Forms, all reports include
e-mail facilities.
Safeguard PALS:
Safeguard PALS is a flexible, non-prescriptive tool for the management of all
types of enquiry with complete confidentiality. It supports the PALS Manager
in their investigations and follow-up recommendations, recording all events
and communication between PALS and the Client.
Safeguard RFI:
Safeguard Request for Information manages all types of requests including those
covered by the Data Protection Act, Freedom of Information and Environmental
Information Regulations.
Safeguard Occupational Health:
Safeguard Occupational Health plays an integral part in the daily management
of the Organisation's OH department and keeps track of the Occupational Health
needs of all employees.
Safeguard Training:
Safeguard Training supplements the NHS Knowledge and Skills Framework with the
Skills Matrix, Personal Development Plan and Course Management tools. Safeguard
Training has helped many Trusts achieve compliance with the NHS National Standards,
in particular CNST Level 3.
Safeguard Bereavement:
The Safeguard Bereavement system has been developed to support the services
offered by Health Professionals to those that have been bereaved. Designed in
conjunction with Health Professionals, it takes account of the guidance provided
by the Department of Health in the publication "When a Patient Dies".
Safeguard Alert:
Safeguard Alert manages and audits the communication between the Organisations
SABS lead and coordinators who determine and implement the actions. The System
issues automatic reminders when Target dates are nearing via the Organisation's
email system and reports can be produced showing any delays.
